My beautiful old Finn-dog. No he wasn't a Lindenbrae bred boy, but as a great friend to Hilary and our lovely Taryn, amongst many other Lindenbrae dogs, and my wonderful companion for 17 years, he certainly deserves his own page on our website.
Finn came to me as a six week old puppy when I was a live-in worker at an Adolescent Unit for teenagers who couldn't live with their parents for myriad pretty awful reasons. He became the best of all possible canine buddies, accompanying me to many many workplaces and engaging with probably thousands of hurting children and young people. More importantly he was MY best mate, introducing me to obedience training and demonstrations; coming camping, walking, bike riding and train travelling; moving 17 times in his first 14 years.
He was an absolute classic. Wonderful work ethic, tennis ball obsessive, swallow chaser, cat hater (except for his very own kitty Tashi), soccer player, beach lover, cuddler (so comforting), protective when necessary but usually the friendliest dog around. He wasn't keen on other dogs but was the best of all possible mates to his canine family, firstly Taryn and later Sorcha, and was very tolerant with Sorcha's puppies, even at 16.
I will be forever grateful to the late Margaret Garriock of Tingwall Kennels for my wonderful Finn.
