Lindenbrae Kennels was founded by Hilary Stephen in 1981, and since then has established a proud reputation of breeding outstanding Border Collies who have achieved great success in many fields. We have shown and trialed dogs to titles in conformation, obedience, rally-obedience, tricks, coursing and agility, and maintain an ongoing commitment to breeding to correct type and to producing outstanding dogs who excel in all canine activities. Lindenbrae Border Collies, with their loving natures, high level of trainability, exceptional early socialisation, adaptability and fun-loving temperaments, make outstanding companions for active singles, couples and families.
Hilary formalised Vicki Rippon and Libby Hotchin’s membership of Lindenbrae Kennels in 1998, and since Hilary’s death in 2005 we are honoured to share the Lindenbrae membership. We maintain a strong commitment to both our individual dogs and our beautiful breed.
Our litters are carefully planned. We only breed occasionally, and usually only when we want a new puppy to add to our families. In keeping with Hilary’s unparalleled mentoring, puppies are bred and raised to exacting standards in relation to genetics, conformation, nutrition, mental and physical health, temperament and socialisation. The dogs in our breeding program prove themselves with multiple titles in conformation and/or performance sports and are health / genetically tested in all relevant areas. As well as being loving family members, Libby’s dogs are partners in Animal Assisted Therapy in her work with children and young people in schools.
Our puppies are precious and only sold to the very best of homes. We offer lifetime support and advice to all purchasers. We do not export dogs overseas finding it impossible to offer appropriate after sales support in such circumstances.
Due to a range of training, trialling and other commitments, we are unlikely to be having another litter before 2023 (how can that be so soon!)
